On July 25, the Los Alamos STARS Club threw a party for the community at Fuller Lodge. The event, Fiesta Los Alamos, featured a mariachi band, flamenco dancers from the Baile Espanol dance troupe in Santa Fe, as well as a live and silent auction.
Dinner was served by Blue Window Bistro and Bandelier Grill provided a cash bar. This party provided a significant purpose. It raised funds to provide shelter for parents of children receiving medical treatment in Juarez, Mexico. These parents, due to poverty, are forced to sleep on the streets while their children are in the hospital. STARS and the El Camino Real Rotary Club in El Paso, Texas, teamed up to offer these parents shelter.
